My client is seeking a Java API Developer for a 6-month contract position within their Financial Services business unit. This successful candidate will have a strong background in Java development, cloud platforms, and continuous integration practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop robust Java applications, focusing on high-volume and low-latency requirements for mission-critical systems.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Java 8 and above, with extensive experience in Spring, Spring Boot, Restful services, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
• Utilise cloud platforms effectively, integrating continuous integration processes into the development life cycle.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development life cycle, from initial concept through to final release.
• Manage Java and Java EE application development projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
• Ensure all designs and code are compliant with technical and business specifications.
• Prepare and produce software component releases, maintaining high standards of software quality within the team.

Key Skills:

• Extensive experience with Java 8 and above.
• Proven expertise in Spring, Spring Boot, and Restful services.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and continuous integration processes.
• Ability to build high-volume, low-latency Java applications for mission-critical systems.
• Proficiency in writing well-designed, efficient, and testable code.
• Experience with software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging.
• Strong project management skills in Java and Java EE application development.
• Ability to ensure compliance with design and specification requirements.
• Knowledge of Fieldglass API and related technologies.
