AWS DevOps Engineer

Remote with the opportunity to work from one of their offices: Preston, Liverpool or Manchester

50-55k per annum- Dependant on experience

My client is seeking a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join their dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and continuous integration/deployment pipelines on AWS. This role requires a deep understanding of AWS services, automation, and the ability to collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure AWS infrastructure.

Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CodePipeline.

Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using tools Ansible.

Monitor system performance, ensure system availability and reliability, and respond to incidents promptly.

Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed for optimal cloud performance and scalability.

Implement and manage security best practices, including IAM roles, security groups, and roles

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application and system performance, availability, and security.

Maintain documentation for infrastructure and processes, ensuring it is up-to-date and accessible.

Stay current with AWS services and industry trends, making recommendations for improvements and innovations

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a focus on AWS.

Strong understanding of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and IAM.

Experience with CI/CD tools like AWS CodePipeline.

Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker.

Strong understanding of networking concepts and AWS networking services.

Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch.

Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards

Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification.

Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.

Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices.

Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
